Comprehensive Agreement on Legal Disclaimer, Risk Notice and Privacy Protection

Version Update and Effective Date: May 15, 2026
User Notice: Welcome to this Bioinformatics Exchange Platform (hereinafter referred to as "the Site"). Before using any features, browsing articles, or running/downloading shared scripts and public data on the Site, please carefully read and understand this agreement. By registering or using the Site, you are deemed to have fully understood and agreed to all terms of this agreement.
| Section 1: General Legal Disclaimer
1.1 Platform Positioning and Open-Source Nature of Code/Algorithms

The Site is a non-profit, academic, and technical bioinformatics platform for pure technical exchange and academic discussion. The Site does not provide independent sequencing services, clinical diagnosis, or commercial data analysis. Any command-line code, analysis pipelines, open-source scripts (such as R, Python, Shell), containers (Docker, Singularity), or workflows published by users are not guaranteed to be 100% compatible, stable, or completely safe in all computing environments. The Site assumes no legal or financial responsibility for server crashes, memory overflows, wasted computing resources, or experimental data loss resulting from the use of Site code by users.

1.2 Non-Medical Decision and Clinical Guidance Principles

Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary field. Its data analyses, target screening, and mutation interpretations are mostly at the stage of scientific research, academic discussion, upstream exploration, or laboratory validation. Any analysis results, literature interpretations, or database comparisons on the Site do not constitute clinical diagnosis, drug recommendations, treatment plans, or medical advice. Researchers or medical professionals applying the analysis methods mentioned on the Site to critical clinical or pharmaceutical research must independently verify the code and perform rigorous biological experiments.

1.3 Scientific Limitations and Third-Party Data Sources

Due to the complexity, heterogeneity, and frequent updates of biological and multi-omics (OMICS) data, information on the Site may be time-lagged. Third-party public databases referenced on the Site (e.g., NCBI, EBI, GDC, TCGA) are owned by the original institutions, and the Site does not guarantee the authenticity or completeness of their data.

| Section 2: Bioinformatics Academic Exchange Risk Notice
Reminder: Multi-omics big data contains extremely high bio-asset value and potential genetic privacy risks. Compliance with data regulations must be strictly observed during exchange, publication, and analysis.
2.1 Strict Prohibition on Unauthorized Upload of Clinical Human Genome Data

According to relevant laws and regulations, users are strictly prohibited from uploading any non-de-identified, patient-related, or unapproved Chinese human genetic resource raw sequencing data (e.g., Fastq, Bam, Vcf) to the Site's servers, public drives, or posts. If detected, the Site reserves the right to immediately delete such content without notice and cooperate with authorities for legal responsibilities.

2.2 Dataset Copyright and Academic Ethics Risk

When sharing, reproducing, or interpreting publicly published datasets (e.g., GEO datasets, single-cell sequencing matrices), users must respect the original authors' rights and provide correct citations. Users are solely responsible for any academic misconduct or copyright disputes arising from improper use of unpublished data.

| Section 3: Privacy and Data Security
3.1 Collection of Basic Personal Information

To maintain the purity of the academic community, we may collect the following information during user registration and daily login: username, email (for identity verification and password recovery), institution/school name (optional), research field (optional). The Site strictly promises not to transfer or sell this information to any third-party commercial organizations.

3.2 Technical Logs and Caching (Cookies & Tokens)

To optimize browsing experience and account security, our servers automatically record: IP address, browser type, operating system, access time, and behavioral logs during code execution/download. Cookies are used to maintain login status and page preferences (e.g., code syntax highlighting), which can be cleared anytime via browser settings.

| Section 4: Intellectual Property Statement

The Site encourages open-source and sharing principles. Except for content explicitly marked with open-source licenses (e.g., MIT, Apache 2.0, GPL), all original tutorials, algorithm analyses, and visualization guides published by moderators, editorial teams, and community users are copyrighted by the Site and original authors. Unauthorized use for commercial publishing, AI model training, or paid training materials is strictly prohibited.

| Section 5: Anti-Illegal Medical Practice & Anti-Fraud
5.1 Prohibition of Illegal Medical Practice and Unauthorized Drug Promotion

The Site strictly prohibits anyone impersonating "bioinformatics experts" or "clinical doctors" to provide personalized recommendations on cancer, rare diseases, or other conditions, including "targeted drug recommendations" or "gene report interpretation services for a fee." The Site does not support, condone, or tolerate any online consultations, sales, or smuggling of anticancer drugs.

5.2 Prevention of Unauthorized Web Crawlers and Malicious Attacks

Due to the high-value structured code and academic content on the Site, strict anti-crawling measures are deployed. Users are strictly prohibited from using malicious or high-frequency automated web crawlers to scrape Site content. Violations will result in permanent banning of the IP and all associated accounts.

| Section 6: Legal Jurisdiction & Dispute Resolution
6.1 Agreement Formation and Interpretation

This agreement's formation, execution, interpretation, and dispute resolution are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China (excluding Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan). If any clause conflicts with applicable law and becomes partially invalid, other provisions remain in full effect.

6.2 Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from this agreement or the use of the Site should first be resolved amicably with the spirit of academic community cooperation. If unresolved, either party may file a lawsuit in the court where the Site operator is located.
